The ASAC 2025 - 2026 Scholarship Application has been open for 2 WEEKS; however, we have yet to receive any applications from the female seniors at Mundy's Mill High School. If you have not done so already, please ensure that your qualified female seniors receive the attached scholarship flyer that includes the application QR Code and link.

Please remind seniors that the deadline to apply for ASAC’s Academic, STEM and Fine Arts scholarships is January 16, 2026.

College is within reach for females who are committed to achieving a better tomorrow through education.

Scholarships are available to female, college-bound seniors who demonstrate academic excellence

and are currently enrolled in City of Atlanta, Fulton County, or Clayton County public schools, as well as

eligible private schools and accredited home-school programs within our chapter’s service areas.

The Horatio Alger Association seeks to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students who have demonstrated integrity, determination in overcoming adversity, academic potential, personal aspirations, strength of character and financial need.

Today, I want to encourage you to make an announcement to your qualified Juniors and Seniors to apply for this year’s Horatio Alger Scholarships.

To JUNIORS: The Association awards 4 $25,000 National Scholarships

and 50 State $10,000 scholarships. Deadline Mar 1.

To SENIORS: $10,000 to $52,000 scholarships to specific colleges and

universities across the United States. Deadline Feb 15.

Key criteria for qualification:

Enrolled as a full-time high school junior
Demonstrate critical financial need (NEW INCOME LEVEL < $100,000)
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
At least a 2.0 GPA
Be a United States Citizen

Cadet Recruiting is excited to share this life-changing opportunity with you!

Every year, we award 42 Georgia high school seniors full scholarships to attend the University of North Georgia and participate in the Corps of Cadets—the Boar’s Head Brigade. On average, we only receive 70 to 80 qualified applicants each year!

We’re extremely interested in college-bound Georgia-resident students who might be considering military programs in college.

The Georgia Military Service Scholarship (GMSS) pays for tuition, fees, room, meals, books, and uniforms for eight semesters; about $85,000 over four years.

In addition to the $85,000 scholarship, recipients become Soldiers in the Georgia Army National Guard and earn pay and benefits that total at least $30,000 and up to $55,000 or more during their time in college, and many are paid even more for occupying leadership roles in the Corps of Cadets. This money can cover other expenses and eliminate the financial stress of college altogether: recipients can graduate with no college debt, get paid to go to college, and have money left in the bank.

We have a Guard unit on our Dahlonega campus for GMSS recipients and other Guard Soldiers who are cadets: so for the first two years, there is no need to commute to weekend drills. After two years, they enter the Simultaneous Membership Program and shadow Guard lieutenants in their Guard units.

GMSS recipients are not deployable while in college. After college, recipients incur a six-to-eight-year service obligation (same for all military officer commissions). The first four years of that commitment is to the Guard. After four years, they may request to transition to the regular Army, or serve their remaining two-year active commitment in the Guard. The Guard provides security for the citizens of Georgia, and provides a public good to the State of Georgia during disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, cyber attacks, and more.

It is not necessary to enlist in the Guard to apply for the scholarship. However, recipients who accept scholarship offers will enlist before receiving benefits.
