Partnerships are vital to the application of our STEAM processes here at Brown Elementary. Through our partnerships, students are able to meet professionals who work in STEAM-related careers, use critical thinking and communication skills to solve problems, and understand how their hard work can pay off in the future.
If you are interested in becoming one of our STEAM partners at Brown Elementary School, please email me at lauren.fazal@clayton.k12.ga.us and fill out the form to provide more information.
Our 22-23 partnership was with professionals from Emory University. These scientists worked with Fifth Graders to use Arduino technology to program fruits as instruments.
They learned about open and closed circuits and the use of alternative energy sources.
Our 21-22 partnership was with a musician from Georgia Tech. She taught Fourth and Fifth grade students how to use the program "EarSketch" to create their own music.
Using coding technology, students could create unique beats, loops, and songs of their own.
Over the past few years, we have been lucky enough to have three Tower Gardens in our school.
Students get to take part in planting, growing, transplanting, harvesting, and even tasting the delicious fresh foods that are grown on our towers!
