📣 Parking & Student Pick-Up Reminder

As we begin the school year, we'd like to remind families of a few important procedures to help keep our campus safe and traffic flowing smoothly.

Early Student Pick-Up

Beginning at 2:00 p.m., our afternoon pick-up line begins to form and remains in place until almost 3:00 p.m. If you need to pick up your student early and would like to avoid waiting in the pick-up line, please plan to arrive before 2:00 p.m. or park in the Monterey parking lot and walk down to the front office.
For student safety, a parent or authorized adult must come into the front office to sign their student out. Please bring a valid photo ID. We are unable to call a student out of class until the parent has arrived, presented their ID, and completed the sign-out process.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

To help keep traffic moving efficiently and safely for everyone, during peak drop-off and pick-up times when staff members are outside assisting students, please pull all the way forward before stopping. This allows us to load and unload multiple vehicles at once and helps reduce wait times for all families.

During off-peak times, when staff are no longer outside directing traffic, it is perfectly fine to drop off or pick up your student in front of the lobby doors.

Pick-Up Time will vary depending on student schedule

A/B & M Track Start & Pick-Up Times

K-3 8:00 - 2:15

4th-6th 8:00 - 2:30

7th-8th 8:30 - 2:45

Younger siblings can wait at the back tables for their oldest sibling to pick them up. You can pick up all kiddos during the oldest sibling's pick-up time.

Crosswalk Update

As part of its ongoing efforts to improve pedestrian safety, the City of Oceanside installed a new crosswalk at the intersection at Avenida Del Oro & Calle Platino.

Members of our community are strongly encouraged to follow basic safe practices:

• Drivers should be on the lookout for and stop for pedestrians.

• Drivers should stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk and stay stopped until the pedestrian is two traffic lanes away or has reached the sidewalk.

• Pedestrians should use a crosswalk when crossing the street and obey pedestrian signals.

• Pedestrians should look both ways for traffic before crossing and ensure cars are yielding before crossing. Remember that having the right-of-way does not prevent you from being seriously injured by a driver who is not paying attention. Traffic safety is everyone's personal responsibility.

• Pedestrians should wear bright-colored, reflective clothing and use a flashlight when walking during hours of darkness. Be visible!

Coastal Academy is committed to doing our part to keep the community safe. We urge every member of the community to help by keeping themselves safe and following basic rules of the road.

Coastal Academy Parking Reminder

If you need to park, please see the attached diagram of where it is allowed. There is no backing out of parking spaces allowed between 7:45 and 8:05 AM.

Please keep in mind that parking at the school is limited, especially during pick-up and drop-off, which are our busiest times of the day.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we adjust to this new challenge. We will be in touch if we can come up with any new solutions.

Coastal Parking Update

Dear Coastal Families,

We have been informed that there will be the towing of vehicles from the lot to the left of Coastal Academy. Parking in this lot is not permitted. Please be advised that if you do park over in that lot, you are at risk of being towed.

Please utilize the drop-off and pick-up loop.
