As we begin the school year, we'd like to remind families of a few important procedures to help keep our campus safe and traffic flowing smoothly.

Early Student Pick-Up

• Beginning at 2:00 p.m., our afternoon pick-up line begins to form and remains in place until almost 3:00 p.m. If you need to pick up your student early and would like to avoid waiting in the pick-up line, please plan to arrive before 2:00 p.m. or park in the Monterey parking lot and walk down to the front office.

• For student safety, a parent or authorized adult must come into the front office to sign their student out. Please bring a valid photo ID. We are unable to call a student out of class until the parent has arrived, presented their ID, and completed the sign-out process.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

To help keep traffic moving efficiently and safely for everyone, during peak drop-off and pick-up times when staff members are outside assisting students, please pull all the way forward before stopping. This allows us to load and unload multiple vehicles at once and helps reduce wait times for all families.

During off-peak times, when staff are no longer outside directing traffic, it is perfectly fine to drop off or pick up your student in front of the lobby doors.

Student Walk-Off Procedures

If you have signed and submitted a Walk-Off permission form for your student, please review the following procedures with them:

• Students may only use their Walk-Off permissions when their scheduled school day has ended. A/B/M Track students and C Track students whose school day ends at 2:45 p.m. should follow the End-of-Day Walk-Off procedures below. C Track students whose individual schedule ends before 2:45 p.m. should instead check out at the Security Desk by the front doors before leaving campus. Walk-Off permissions do not allow students to leave before their scheduled school day ends.

• For students whose school day ends at 2:45 p.m., students with Walk-Off permissionss should report to the fountain and wait for a staff member to sign them off. Once they have been signed off, students will walk together with staff to the crosswalk before continuing to their designated destination. Students should not leave class and walk directly off campus or leave campus without checking in with the appropriate staff member first.

Walk-Off permissions allow your student to leave campus without waiting in the afternoon pick-up line, but they must still follow the appropriate Walk-Off procedure based on when their school day ends. These steps help us keep track of students and ensure everyone leaves campus safely.
