Hello Coastal Theater Community,
Happy New Year! We’re excited to kick off 2026 with great news: we have secured an outstanding new musical theater director, Liz Swensen, for our Frozen Jr. spring performance. Please find her introduction and photo included below.
Liz Swensen will work closely with Maya Mozon, our Coastal team, and our parent community to ensure our theater program continues to grow while honoring the legacy of Mrs. Jackson, her team, and our community.
We are in the final stages of confirming our theater venue and performance dates and will share those details soon. Thank you for your patience—these last-minute changes brought a few challenges, but we are on track and will have everything finalized shortly.
We are still planning to follow the current audition timeline. Please see the Audition and Production information here. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we have confirmed all details.
Hi everyone! My name is Liz Swensen, and I’m excited to step into the role of director for Coastal Academy’s production of Frozen, Jr.
My own theatre journey started when I was the same age as your students, and it eventually led me to a BA in Drama and an MFA in Musical Theatre from SDSU. While I have been fortunate to perform and direct in the community, my heart belongs to theatre education.
My most rewarding experience was being the theatre arts teacher and director at Vista High School for over 30 years. I’ve heard wonderful things about the students and the parent community here, and I can’t wait to get to know everyone

Happy New Year Dolphins! Your support has kept us moving toward our goal of $600. Let's kick off this new year adding a bigger dent to the goal.
In fact, January has great bonuses to help us reach our goal faster. Until January 11, you'll earn 20 bonus box tops for every 4 participating products. That's an easy $2.00 added to our goal on top of the regular box tops for each product.
Target also has 40 bonus box tops for every 4 products, and Albertrsons/Vons has 55 bonus box tops for every 5 products purchased. You can combine bonuses too! So a Target run can contribute $6.40 to our goal for only purchasing 4 products!!!!!
Keep scanning Dolphins!
