2025 Tryout Overview

After a very intense and grueling tryout process, the names listed below will be representing The Lincoln Southwest Boys Soccer Program during the 2025 Season. We feel very fortunate as a staff to have had over 70 quality Student-Athletes come out for tryouts this season.

The process of selecting teams was made extremely difficult due to the fact we had so many talented, high-character players come out for tryouts. However, the players selected are the ones we collectively feel will best represent the program both on and off the field. With regards to placements of players, these were done based on our observations of players technical ability, communication, effort, coachability, and ability to consistently produce in a high-pressure environment. When all things are equal on the field, we also take into account player(s) academics, off-field behavior, and team dynamics. Additionally, the Coaching Staff is tasked with looking after both the short-term and long-term future and success of the Program. Consequently, the opportunity to continue to develop players of certain ages and eligibilities is also a contributing factor. 

Please know that it would give us great joy to keep all of the players that came out this season, but due to limited resources (which include, but are not limited to: playing time, training time, uniforms, training space, transportation) we are forced to make some tough decisions with regards to selecting players for their respective rosters. 

It should be noted as well, that we do take smaller rosters to offer the opportunity and flexibility to move players up or down between teams if need be. This could be due to injuries, more game time, or if a player is performing well and earns the opportunity to play at a more challenging level. However, please know that for the time being ALL ROSTER SELECTIONS AND PLACEMENTS ARE FINAL and there will be no movement in the short-term. We will reassess in the future as the season progresses. If a player/parent/family has questions regarding lack of selection or placement, it is up the THE PLAYER to reach out to the Coaching Staff and make arrangements to discuss.

Congratulations to all the players who will be representing LSW Boys Soccer this season. We look forward to coaching you this Spring and hope to continue the strong tradition that has been established within the program at Southwest.
