After establishing a strong foundation in year 1, Lincoln Public Schools continues to support educators in years 2 and 3 by offering additional professional learning opportunities as staff work toward permanent status. Elevating Professional Practices is a course where educators can choose from two distinct pathways designed to enhance instructional skills, build confidence, and refine classroom practices. Participants select a pathway that best aligns with their learning style and professional goals.
This course is required in the second year of employment for all certificated employees who are new to LPS or returning after an absence of up to three years. Both pathways include in-person connection time with a provided dinner, fostering positive relationships across LPS and creating a networking/cohort-style learning environment.
*All session topics for the In Person Learning Summit are listed in the LPS Professional Learning Catalog for each date.

LPS ElevatED: Elevating Professional Practices
Year 2: REQUIRED
Year 3: Encouraged (Optional)
LPS ElevatED offers two distinct pathways for your Year 2 and Year 3 professional learning:
Pathway #1: In-Person Learning Summit
You will need to select four out of the six available evening sessions. Please check your calendar now to avoid conflicts with parent-teacher conferences or other building-level meetings. If you need to change your registration, you will have the flexibility to unregister and sign up for a different evening.
For each of the four evenings you choose, you will select two sections (topics). Each evening includes a 30-minute dinner break (provided by local venues) for networking and conversation.

Pathway #2: Video to Improve Performance (V.I.P.) Course #28875
As Jim Knight notes, "Watching yourself on video is one of the most powerful strategies that professionals can use to improve." The V.I.P. pathway offers a supportive approach to using video for professional growth. Participants will learn techniques for self-reflection by recording an area of their instruction, analyzing their practice using reflection guides, and identifying a current reality and a next step goal aligned with district priorities.
This course includes three sessions offered twice throughout the year to accommodate your schedule. Please register for one option (A or B) for each session
