Colorguard Tryouts
Tryouts were held in May. This was the 3rd year for the colorguard, and the first year of official leadership! Interviews were conducted, and a final roster was posted before school let out for the summer.
We also hosted a Rifle Clinic over the summer. Cornhusker Marching Band flag line members were gracious enough to come and teach at the event! Other schools were invited to attend, and everyone learned a ton about spinning and tossing rifles.
Students started well before the school year preparing for the upcoming marching season.
Both the percussion line and colorguard unit held a week-long camp prior to marching band camp. Here, the colorguard learned most of the choreography for the show!
During this week, the students learn the fundamentals of marching and begin learning the drill for the show. Colorguard members get to know other band mates and begin putting choreography and drill together. Band leadership incorporate theme days to keep things light. It is always such a fun week!
