President

Mohamed H. Hassan received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in chemistry from Alexandria University in Egypt. Currently, he is working on his PhD degree in materials chemistry at Clarkson University. Mr. Hassan was elected as the ECS student chapter president in October 2020.

Vice President

Cheng Wang received his bachelor degree of Chemistry from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China in 2014. He is currently working with Prof. Elizabeth J. Podlaha in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Clarkson University. His research interests are using electrodeposition to fabricate thin film electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction and other applications.

Benjamin Slenker is an undergraduate studying Chemical Engineering at Clarkson University. He is currently doing undergraduate research through Prof. Krishnan, and is involved on Campus in Chem E Car and Engineers Without Borders. In his free time he enjoys playing the saxophone, hiking, and painting.

Undergraduate Treasurer

Allie Bowman is an undergraduate student studying chemical engineering at Clarkson University. Allie works in Dr. Sitaraman Krishnan’s research lab on projects involving solar cells and fuel cells. In addition to ChemE Car, she is the treasurer of the Student Chapter of the Electrochemical Society at Clarkson. Allie plays on the Clarkson’s women’s rugby team and works as a Resident Advisor in the first year dorms.

Undergraduate Outreach

Gavin Prevatt is an undergraduate student studying both Chemical Engineering and Physics, with a concentration in Materials Science and Engineering. He is an active member of Prof. Krishnan’s research group and is currently working on the development of polymeric cathodes for use in hydrogen peroxide fuel cells to improve the potential for power output. Additionally, he is a member of the Chem-E Car SPEED Team on campus. In his down time, he enjoys playing games, be it board games or video games.

Undergraduate Outreach

Aria Stephan is an Undergraduate student studying Chemical Engineering at Clarkson University. Currently she is doing undergraduate research with Dr. Kim regarding the generation of electricity through potential ion differences in amine scrubbing. She became involved in electrochemical work after listening to talks and presentations that combined two of her interests; environmental sustainability and chemistry. In addition to research, she is involved with ChemE car, Society of Women Engineers, and The Clarkson Sustainability Club.
