In reading and writing this year Mr. Weinmeister and Ms. Dillard will be helping each grade-level gifted certified staff member create instruction that meets the needs of all students. We will collaboratively plan with each grade level to look at the curriculum and individual student data so that we can adjust instruction or provide enrichment opportunities.

Although reading and writing instruction tends to naturally meet students at their individualized content level, we are encouraging grade levels to differentiate based on processes and products.

Choices Boards and Learning Menus

Some of the most effective and fun ways of differentiating for gifted and high achieving students are choice boards and learning menus. They give the student control in guiding their own learning and provide multiple ways for the student to demonstrate their mastery. Below is an example of these types of assignments.
