Kaiser Permanente Logo Design Challenge

Students were asked to create a logo for the upcoming San Bernardino Community Health Collaborative hosted by Kaiser Permanente.

They developed their ideas, worked with a real world client and were awarded scholarship prizes for the top 3 designs. 

Xochitl won 1st place with an award of $300. 

Magazine Covers 

Music Tour Posters

Students learned about music tour posters, typography and hierarchy in design. They pout together tour posters of their favorite artists (of course these are all made up and tour dates are non existent. )

Using the skills of typography they are familiar with and their new found skills in Photoshop of the effects tools and layer masking they went to town. 

History of Graphic Design

Honors students researched major graphic design movements in history and created posters based on the information they found. The poster had to be reflective of the era they researched. 

Surrealism in Design

Venturing into the Surreal World of Design and Photo Manipulation.

Using blending modes, filters, layer masks, and color adjusting to create a surrealism poster.

Painting in Photoshop

Student learned how to paint digitally in Photoshop. They learned how to download and create Photoshop brushes. They applied their skills while creating these digital paintings. 

Intro. to Adobe Photoshop

Students worked through exercises to learn and practice manipulating images in Adobe Photoshop.

The following projects allowed students to practice using selection tools and layer masks.

Business Identity Packages

Students worked through the design process of creating a Business Identity including a custom designed brand, logo design, business card, letterhead, and envelope.

Students brainstormed ideas with thumbnail sketches, mood boards, creative brief and completed designs created in Adobe Illustrator.
