Safeties

Safety Contracts went home today. They are to be signed and returned by Friday. Safety posts will begin on Friday for some, but Monday for all.

This year's safety patrol has been revamped to suit the needs of our school. Each student will have the opportunity to be a safety for one half of the school year. All safeties will be required to wear a safety belt (whether an indoor or outdoor safety) to help identify themselves as school helpers.

Safeties and their parents will need to sign the safety contract and job description that will be sent home on the first day of school. The contract is also available here:

SAFETY CONTRACT 2020-2021

The safety patrol at Cardinal Foley are comprised of 8th grade students who aid teachers and students alike for the safety and security of all. This year’s safety terms will be for one semester. Please remember that you have been chosen because of your maturity, reliability, and leadership ability.

I agree to the following:

  • To wear my safety belt and badge each day to identify myself as a helper

  • To quickly and quietly travel to and from my safety post

  • To complete the tasks I am asked to do with a smile

  • To remain at your post until you are dismissed from the faculty or staff member in charge of you

While at my post, I will:

  • Not complete homework

  • Not use my phone

  • Not treat it as break or recess

There are regular check ins with faculty and staff about safeties. If the safety code of conduct is not followed, there are the following consequences:

  1. MEETING--discuss with safety and how to improve or change behavior

  2. WARNING--identify the issue(s) and create action plan to avoid removal

  3. REMOVAL--safety will be removed from safety post
