Welcome to Cardinal John Foley School! I am very excited to be your child’s PreK-3 teacher this year. Along with our classroom aide, we are going to have a wonderful year together. I am passionate about teaching young children through play, music, and movement. It is my hope to plant the seeds of a lifelong love of learning and growing as God’s children in each of my students.
I will send out monthly letters and post important information on my website. Please be sure to check this Google Website on a monthly basis. I will update it monthly to keep you informed of all our classroom happenings. Please also feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to partnering with you to make this the best possible PreK experience for you and your child.
PreK classes begin on September 8th for 5 day students and September 9th for 3 day students. You and your child are invited to come to a couple of important meetings before this special day to get us all ready for a fabulous year together!
PreK Parent Meeting – All PreK parents are invited to attend the CJF PreK Parent Meeting to be held on September 3rd at 7pm in the school gym. The Principal, Mrs. Kathy Boyle will provide you with important school-wide information. Immediately following, we will meet in your child’s classroom to discuss classroom specifics.
Classroom Visits – On September 4th and 5th sometime between 9:00-11:30 you are invited to visit your child’s classroom with your child. You will have a chance to find their cubby and desk and see all our classroom materials and toys!
Please complete all the forms inside your child’s green folder that you will receive at our Parent Meeting. I would also love to have one individual photo of your child and a family photo to use inside our classroom. Please bring these items with you on your Classroom Visit. Thank you!
Enjoy the rest of your summer and see you very soon!
Mrs. Brown
Here are just a few important notes for you in the meantime:
Our Pre-K day begins at AM and ends at 2:15PM. There is after school CARES available to you. Please contact for more information.
Our first full day of school is September 8th for 5 day students and September 9th for 3 day students.
Drop off is at the Preschool Doors of the building. You will park and walk your child up to the door. Drop off is between 8:00-8:15. If you arrive late please check into the main office and they will walk your child to their classroom.
Pick up is at the front of our school gym via a car line. Students will be brought to the gym doors at 2:05 PM each day for 2:15 dismissal. Please form a car line along the perimeter of the main parking lot. Be sure to display your name card on your sun visor or dashboard (you will receive this on visit day). Please do not get out of your car. A teacher will bring your child to your car and put them inside. You may then pull up, get out, and buckle your child.
Children will need a small snack, lunch, and a spill-proof water bottle each school day. Please pack these in separate containers and note that our classroom is PEANUT FREE. Thank you!
Children should dress in comfortable clothing and wear velcro sneakers. Shorts, t-shirt, sweat pants, long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt (dependent on weather). We will have special dress up days throughout the year where your child will be able to wear their favorite or special outfits.
Please have your child bring a backpack big enough to hold their Green Folder (you will receive this at the Parent Meeting), their lunch box and blanket. Please LABEL EVERYTHING (black Sharpies work great) you bring in so we can make sure all items go home with the right student.
There will be many opportunities to volunteer in our class throughout the year. I will need two parents to be Homeroom Parents to help with all our special events throughout the year. If you are interested please email me or let me know at the Parent's meeting.
During the school year our Google Site will be updated each weekend with important information so please make sure to check the site each Sunday evening. Feel free to email me at dbrown@cjfschool.org at any time throughout the school year with any questions or concerns.
Have your child wear their backpack each day with the following :
Green folder
Lunchbox
Water bottle
Snack (in front or side pocket of the backpack, if possible, otherwise in a separate labeled container or bag)
SMALL blanket and one lovey for quiet time
Please Label Everything! Thank you!
