Summary here
Dear Delegates,
Hello and thank you for coming to WALMUNII! My name is Cecelia Lundgren and I will be the other crisis director for this committee, along with Catherine Berninger!
This is my third year in Model UN and I have found it fulfilling and such a good way to experience debate and research at a level that most highschoolers will never experience. I serve as the Model UN treasurer here at Walnut. When I am not at Model UN you can find me participating in numerous extracurriculars at Walnut. I am a student ambassador, play for club and school lacrosse, run cross country, and participate in my church's youth group. Outside of school I enjoy going to coffee shops, backpacking, and watching Grey’s Anatomy. I am also a big reader and have been into World War II historical fiction and nonfiction books as of late.
I’ve been obsessed with Harry Potter since the second grade. I can remember opening up the first book on the drive to Thanksgiving (the illustrated version), and falling in love with the Wizarding World! I have since read the series almost seven times, been to Harry Potter World in Orlando, and been an avid collector of Harry Potter Legos. Last winter, when we were tasked with coming up with committee ideas for next year, I thought of how Harry Potter could be a really good committee just because it reflects some of the real world concepts and debates today. I hope that this committee reflects not only what happens after the books, but also how legislation and order can change narratives.
As one of your crisis directors I hope to guide and plan a committee that reflects the creativity and vastness of the Wizarding World. I am so excited to plan fun and exciting crisis updates, and to see how everyone's crisis arcs turn out! Feel free to reach out to me or any of the other leaders in this committee if you have any questions or concerns!
Sincerely,
Cecelia Lundgren, clundgreen@cincinnatips.org
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to WALMUNII! I’m so excited to be one of your Crisis Directors this year, along with the amazing Cecelia Lundgren!
I’m currently a junior and this will be my third year in Model UN, and I can proudly say that it’s my favorite activity to be a part of. I’m the Vice President for Walnut’s club and was a Chair for last year’s Lord of the Flies committee, so I hope that my experience will allow for this to be a fun and productive committee! Outside of MUN, I play soccer and field hockey, as well as participating in Mock Trial and Girl Scouts. I’m also learning German and hope to study abroad this summer!
Harry Potter is my favorite series of all time, so when I had the opportunity to work on this committee, I was overjoyed! So far, my experience with the Wizarding World has included reading the series, watching the movies, playing Hogwarts Legacy, seeing the Cursed Child stage play, and visiting Harry Potter World three times, so I hope that I have the appropriate credentials to guide you all through this committee! Since this committee is set in the immediate aftermath of the original series, you will have the chance to craft your own unique solutions while participating as characters you may not be as familiar with!
As one of your Crisis Directors, I plan to help the committee run smoothly from behind the scenes and present crisis updates in a fun yet informative manner. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or one of the other committee leaders. I can’t wait to see how your crisis arcs impact the committee!
Sincerely,
Catherine Berninger, cbernininger@cincinnatips.org
