Both as an activity carried out in the different participating institutions and during the various mobilities, the creation of garments based on recycling, conscious and slow fashion, and second-hand materials has been central to the project. We have also witnessed zero-waste fashion shows, where students showcase their innovative designs.
Through these experiences, participants are highly motivated, developing a deeper awareness of remade fashion, the reuse of fabrics, and the incredible designs that emerge from collaboration and shared effort. This hands-on approach not only enhances creativity but also fosters a strong sense of sustainability and responsibility in the world of fashion.
Here we see mannequins with different designs made from jeans that were no longer used at the school. We see high-quality proposals where the school's students and teachers have researched design with this type of fabric. It was hard work that was well worth the effort, and the participants also learned sewing and design skills.
In addition to learning how to draw the human body in our art class, we came up with eco-conscious designs where we recycled fabrics and other decorative elements to create sustainable flamenco outfits and put on a catwalk show.
Here are three students with designs they created themselves, featuring folk motifs based on recycling and sustainable fashion.
