STUDENTS, We need your input to help with planning for the future! Please take the student survey by May 6th to make your voice heard!
Dear CH-UH Students and Families,
We hope this message finds you well.
On March 30, Governor DeWine ordered schools to remain closed until at least May 1. Our administrative, curriculum and technology leadership teams have been meeting virtually to lay out the next phase of our at-home instructional plan for all CH-UH students.
The information you will be receiving from your child’s teacher will outline how learning will continue while adhering to the Governor’s direction to stay-at-home. This website has been developed to help parents find all the needed resources in one location.
We empathize with families during this stressful time and recognize that these circumstances undoubtedly impact the learning process. We are doing everything we can to foster the necessary partnership with you in furthering your child’s education. Our goal is to provide meaningful instruction and support students and parents throughout the school closure.
There will be some bumps along the way, but your child’s teachers, counselors, building principals, and support team members will be here working with your students every day we are in session at home. Education is an essential service and we take our responsibility to provide an excellent education to every student within CH-UH schools very seriously.
Sincerely,
The Educational Services Team
We want to remind our families that school attendance is required per Ohio Department of Education guidelines. Participation in school in the manner prescribed in the Tier 3 plan will count as student's attendance to school. Weekly plans for what students should be doing can be found by clicking on your school name below and then clicking on the Weekly Plan for the specific grade level. If students need support, please contact your child's teacher or their building principal.
Click on your school below to see a message from your building principal, see student lab hours and learn about the weekly plan for instruction.
Students with individualized education programs and 504s will continue to have their services and accommodations/modifications provided to the maximum extent possible. Deadlines for plans (IEP/504) and evaluations (ETR) will continue to be met in accordance with their end dates. These meetings will be held either via video conference or telephone conference. Please reach out to your student’s case manager or principal if you have any questions or would like to discuss how we can work together to meet your student’s needs during this time.
For students with disabilities, transitioning to distance learning can be challenging. Learn about the built-in accessibility features on Chromebook and how they might be helpful to students.
Enrichment activities can be accessed directly by clicking here. These enrichment activities are great as stand-alone learning opportunity or as a complement to what students will be learning throughout the remainder of the school year.
Kindergarten through second grade students and families will be provided feedback from their teacher using standards-based grading descriptors of Exceeds/Meets/Developing.
Third through twelfth grade students will earn Quarter 4 or Trimester 3 grades using the scale of A, B, C, Pass, or Fail, based on the following criteria:
[A] Successful completion of work ranging from 90-100%.
[B] Successful completion of at least 80% of assigned work, but not 90% of the work.
[C] Successful completion of at least 60% of assigned work, but less than 80% of the work.
[Pass] Successful completion of 40% course work, but less than 60% of the work.
[Fail] Less than 40% of work completed: no credit will be awarded. This grade will be treated as an incomplete and students will have an opportunity to complete their work in summer school or with support provided once normal school resumes.
All students will have two weeks to complete assignments from the date the assignment is posted.
Our CH-UH support team has prepared a list of informational resources, articles, and guides to support you during this difficult time. We intend to continue updating this list as we attain relevant content. Social-Emotional Support for Students during COVID-19
Parents and students can request social-emotional support by completing this form. Responses will be routed to CH-UH counselors and someone will get in contact with you as soon as possible.
Each weekday, free breakfast and lunch can be picked up at all other sites from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This food is available for any child whether or not they are CH-UH students. On Fridays at all pickup sites, 3 total breakfast/lunch combos can be picked up per child to last through the weekend.
