Mentor General Duties

GENERAL MENTORING REQUIREMENTS

During the CHOOSE experience, mentors will be expected to:

• Meet with the student, once a week at the beginning and twice a week during the last month.
• Submit biweekly meeting notes to the CHOOSE Coordinator (see page 8 of mentor handbook or mentor forms in staff resources).
• Monitor the research activities.
• Help students prepare for the presentation.
• Evaluate the student’s performance weekly during the CHOOSE experience using the attached rubrics .
• Attend all CHOOSE workshops, which will include mentor training, journal writing and evaluation.
• Enjoy the experience of learning alongside the mentee.
