In this FLES course (Foreign Language Early Start) , students are introduced to vocabulary and basic expressions and phrases, in addition to learning about Francophone cultures.
Students will practice speaking, listening, reading and writing in class through the use of role-playing, dialogues, games and songs . All work will be done in the classroom setting and students are encouraged to participate and collaborate with their classmates.
This year World Language is considered a special. Next year students will begin their first year study of French as a Level I high school course.
At the end of 8th grade and the successful completion of two years of study, students will receive one (1) high school credit for World Language. They will continue to Level II of that course in high school.
