Sally Barnes has been teaching French and Spanish at PVC since September 2005. She received her BA in French and Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont and her MAT from Manhattanville College. She is certified in both French and Spanish for grades 1 -12.
Sally worked in the travel industry for 17 years, using her French and Spanish in numerous sales positions for companies such as SNCF (French National Railroads), Club Mediteranee and Occidental Hotels (based in Madrid). She feels strongly that learning a second language is critical to acquiring 21st century skills and becoming a better global citizen. She and her family live in Croton.
Sally served as 2021 President of the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers (NYSAFLT). NYSAFLT is an organization which promotes the importance of learning a World Language throughout NY State.
