Language learning is essential to becoming a global citizen in today's world.  Congratulations on choosing/continuing French!  The World Language Department's goal for every student is to develop confidence in applying their skills in various contexts for different functions. We use ACTFL's (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language) Can Do Statements to assess students using the Interpretive, Interpersonal and Presentational Modes described in the World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages.  In 2021 New York State  Education Department has approved revised WL standards which incorporate ACTFL C's.
