3D ANIMATION* - COURSE 305

This course will use computer software to create animated projects. The course will cover topics such as computer generated imaging, tweening and rendering.

BECOMING A BEAR - COURSES 401 and 402

This course is designed to help students transition into high school as a Catholic High Bear! Working with a CHS 9th grade Counselor, students will set achievable goals and build a toolbox of skills to assist with time management, stress management, study skills, etc. that will help them be successful in high school.

This course is open to CHS 8th-9th graders.

This course is offered twice; the content is the same, so students should only enroll in one section.

FORENSICS CAMP* - COURSE 309

This course challenges students as they rely on critical thinking, teamwork, and communication to solve problems.

FUN SCIENCE* - COURSE 306

This fun, interactive course allows students to explore and apply scientific principles. Students will engage in science activities – labs, demonstrations, etc. - that apply the basics of physics, chemistry, biology, and more. A materials fee is included in the course cost.

LEGO CAMPS* - COURSES 404 and 405

The LEGO® Education BricQ Motion Prime Set engages students in the exploration of physical science within a sports context. BricQ Motion helps foster an understanding of forces, motion, and interactions by providing easy hands-on learning experiences without the need for technology. A materials fee is included in the course cost. 

This course is open to boys and girls entering 6th-8th grades.

These courses will use different kits, so campers can participate in both weeks without repetition.

NEW MEMBER MARCHING CAMP* - COURSE 801

This course is required for all new students enrolled in a band class at CHS during the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Students will be taught how to march, play warm-ups, scales and school songs as they prepare for their first band camp in July.

This course is open to CHS and SJA students who are new CHS Band members.

This course meets:

PERCUSSION CAMP for CHS and SJA* - COURSE 802

This course is required for all students enrolled as a percussionist in a CHS band class during the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Students will begin learning music for the 2024 halftime show. Bring a bag lunch.

This course is open to CHS and SJA students who are percussionists.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT* - COURSES 406 and 407


This course will cover the five goals of social emotional learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, decision making and maintaining relationships.  The course will enhance personal development and interpersonal skills.  11th Grade Counselor, Mrs. Caroline Batsche, LPC will engage students in interactive social activities, personality, and learning style assessments as well as practical tools to enhance functioning.    

This course is open to 7th-9th grade boys and girls.

PUBLIC SPEAKING* - COURSE 403

This course is designed to help students understand the characteristics of effective communication, practice communication skills, and increase confidence while speaking to others. Students will explore different types of communication; work collaboratively; and write, revise, and deliver speeches.

This course is open to boys and girls entering 6th-12th grade.

ROBOTICS* - COURSES 307 and 308

This course is an introduction to building and programming robots to perform common tasks used in many different industries. Students will learn programming skills to control the robot and develop a line-following program. Students will use engineering skills to design the robot to navigate a route to explore a new planet and collect samples along the way. The week will end with a competition to determine the best “explorobot”. A materials fee is included in the course cost.

SERVICE WEEK 901

The CHS Campus Ministry team will partner with charitable organizations in the Baton Rouge area to provide students with the opportunity to engage in mission work for our community and earn the service hours required for the 2024-2025 school year. Each day will include a prayer experience to allow the students to reflect on the ways they encountered Christ in the people and organizations they served. Students should bring a bag lunch each day.

This course is open to 8th-12th grade CHS students.

STUDY SKILLS* - COURSES 301 and 302

This course is intended for students who wish to improve their study habits, test preparation and test-taking skills, as well as build a higher level of reading proficiency. These courses explore learning styles, organization and motivation.
