PE Lesson Procedures and Protocol
LESSON PROTOCOL
1. Line up in silence
2. Register
3. Change into PE kit in silence (4 minutes)
4. Lesson Objectives and Groupings given
5. Students perform ‘Christ’s School Warm Up’
PE KIT
Correct indoor kit = House polo shirt, shorts or school leggings, white sport socks or blue long socks and trainers
Correct outdoor kit = House rugby shirt, shorts or school leggings/tracksuit bottoms, white sport socks or blue long socks
Extra items; PE hoodie, tracksuit bottoms, Football boots, gumshields, shinpads etc
Forgetting kit = 1st time – restorative conversation at break or lunch, 2nd time – 20 minute break or lunch imposition, 3rd time – 1 hour after school and contact home, 4th time – 1 hour after school with class teacher and 1 hour with HOD
Jewellery - none whatsoever – tape as a last resort - however no piercing in world will close up in an hour. No bands or bracelets or watches
Over shoulder length hair MUST be tied back always.
NOTES FOR EXCUSAL FROM PE
Notes – All students to bring a note if they are not participating AND they must BRING their full PE kit. The note must be signed by a doctor or their parents (not sister or bro). Please check this.
As a FULLY CHANGED non-doer students will be asked to play a role in the lesson, either as: official, coach, ref, undertaking an observation written task
BEHAVIOUR AND REWARDS
Exemplary behaviour is expected from our students. We have the highest expectations and accept no exceptions – Be promote students to be good sports people who uphold their moral compass. All behaviour incidents, no matter how minor, must be recorded on sims.
Rewards – We give verbal praise, postcards home, phone calls home, commendations, offer attendance on sports trips, assign students as sports captains, and certificate students termly through our departmental awards in assemblies and the annual Sports Awards Evening.
SCHEMES OF WORK
All schemes of work have extension related tasks and topics for focus should a class or individual require challenge for that activity.
ASSESSMENT KS3
Throughout KS3 students will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate the knowledge, understanding and practical performance of skills in isolation and the application of these skills into a full sided competitive situation.
Students will cover each practical activity over 6 lessons. Target setting for all students will occur in lesson 1 and assessment feedback will be in lesson 6.
FACILITIES
Facilities – We ask students to respect our equipment and facilities. They want to use the best, we will ensure this but they must respect it. Students will pay for any breakages on purpose.
We have a sports hall, field, MUGA, NEW 6th form centre, cricket Nets, long jump pit, dance studio and drama space for PE
