For Visual Literature, a course taught by Prof. Andrew Barreto, there was an emphasis on the concepts used in visual literature. Since the course length is only one semester, we had to divide up the works of visual literature for CA-1, so as to study them as a group activity. This helped us cover all the prescribed texts.
The final examinations included applications of concepts learned in the reference texts, as well as external concepts, to works of visual literature. There were two components, research and application - which was the ideal way to ensure we were properly assessed for the semester.
For future batches, I would like the course to be split into two semesters, and taught over the year, so that concepts can be learnt in one semester, and the works of visual literature and application of concepts can be learnt in the other semester.
