Since the accrediting team from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) visited our institution in August 2022, significant improvements have been achieved in several areas. We have engaged in transformative efforts that improved the quality of instruction and the overall academic environment through steadfast dedication and dogged pursuit of development. Our faculty, staff, and students' collaborative efforts have paid off, pushing us closer to paving the way for an even more promising future. 01. Conduct an evaluation, analysis, and amendment of BSIT’s program outcomes (POs) and program education objectives (PEOs) using the most recent CHED Policies, Standards, and Guidelines. Developed a strategy for determining the graduates’ compliance with its specified POs and PEOs.

To conduct an evaluation, analysis, and amendment of a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program's outcomes (POs) and program education objectives (PEOs) in accordance with the most recent CHED (Commission on Higher Education) Policies, Standards, and Guidelines, the following supporting documents are presented such as:
CHED Policies, Standards, and Guidelines [CMO No.25, Series of 2015] are the basis for curriculum development, program outcomes, and program education objectives for BSIT programs. These documents will serve as the foundation for the evaluation and analysis. Together with its document is the BSIT Program Curriculum, which provides a comprehensive understanding of the program structure and content.
BSIT Program Outcomes (POs) and Program Education Objectives (PEOs) formulated with the collaboration of the ITE faculty members of the four (4) campuses of CHMSU, which contain the intended learning outcomes that the program aims to achieve. Stakeholder Input and data benchmarking are also included, which comprise various stakeholders, including faculty members, students, alumni, industry professionals, and employers. It is done through an online gathering to gather perspectives on the effectiveness of the current program outcomes and education objectives. This also includes suggestions and comments from the IT Industry to be updated on the current industry trends and to align with the needs of the industry.
Course Syllabi with Assessment Methods and Tools, which outline the course objectives, content, teaching methods, assessment strategies, and alignment with integrated program outcomes and also to measure students' achievement of program outcomes and education objectives. This includes student performance data, sample rubrics, exams, projects, portfolios, other assessment instruments, or any other relevant indicators of student achievement.
ISO, CHED issuance of Certificate of Program Compliance, and Accreditation for Program Leveling that BSIT program has been through an accreditation process, which provides insights and recommendations for program improvement.
An ongoing comprehensive tracer study for IT graduates verifies that the program's educational objective, together with its program outcome, has been continuously updated through data gathering on the graduates.
02. Undertake a comprehensive tracer study utilizing the appropriate methodology that will include the following:
Conduct a full-blown study for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduates to determine the following:
a. Percentage of the Program Educational Objectives attained/achieved by the graduates.
b. Percentage of the graduate who were employed and percentage of graduates who became successful entrepreneurs.
c. Feedback from employers regarding the performance of the graduates in their respective workplace;
d. Number of graduates who are given awards and recognition for outstanding performance/contributions in the field/workplace; and
e. Number of prominent graduates who have outstanding contribution in the field of information technology

The Program has initiated a comprehensive tracer study for the BSIT Program and started to collect data from the graduates. This initiative was created, and the researchers presented a proposal during the research in-house review and will present the completed research this year. Through this study, it is also a good practice to provide yearly reports to benefit the program for the upcoming years. Also, student's cohort and sample data in the alumni tracer study is presented in this area.

03. Conduct a more comprehensive benchmark survey on the needs, priorities, challenges, and resources of the community as basis for the designing and re-designing of the extension program/project/activity.

The research office and the group of faculty members of the College of Computer Studies have conducted a study entitled "Training Needs Assessment for Senior and Junior High School Faculty" of the 5 five different schools in Negros Occidental, and they will be the beneficiary of the project proposal for this year's program under the Information Technology. The identified needs of the beneficiaries are the basis of the program proposal, which has been presented and approved for implementation this year by the administration.

04. Develop a more comprehensive extension program to complement the competencies of the BSIT curriculum and better cater to the needs of the community covering capacity building, transfer of technologies, and technical assistance.

The Information Technology has created a program proposal for the community extension based on the needs of the beneficiaries and also with the competency aligned with the IT curriculum and the skills of the faculty members under the program, together with the existing projects that have been implemented in different organizations.
05. Conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation of the implemented extension programs, projects, and activities in the BSIT. Utilize the results as inputs in the re-planning to ensure project sustainability for future extension projects and activities.

The Extension and Community Services Office has updated the Quality Objectives and Action Plan for the year 2023 and the continuous update of the Quality Objectives Monitoring as the basis for the monitoring and evaluation of the proposed program and projects of the institution. The Program has conducted research, particularly on Training Needs Assessment for Senior and Junior Highschool Faculty in the different schools in Negros Occidental. The result of the said research has been utilized for the development of the extension and community services program proposal or project. Based on the CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 25, Series of 2015, the program has identified the competencies stipulated in the BSIT Curriculum. It has created a matrix for the implemented and proposed projects under the Information Technology program, which reflects the alignment of the competencies and the courses offered. It is also attached to the document the approved and proposed projects under the program.

The different progress concerning the program's activities for linkages with the industry and other organizations has been developed for the benefit of the students. The BSIT curriculum is greatly enhanced by the university's connections with other organizations through linkages. Collaborations with business partners, internship opportunities, research activities, and involvement from alumni all help BSIT students improve professionally and support the curriculum to be more practically relevant. In order to maintain the success and employability of its graduates in the field of Information Technology, the university is still committed to fostering these connections and growing its network.
An "Open RAN Academy" is a training and educational initiative aimed at promoting and disseminating knowledge about Open RAN technology and its implementation. It is a collaborative effort between telecommunication companies, technology vendors, industry associations, and educational institutions.

The College of Computer Studies encourages faculty members to engage in research and research-related activities that can significantly contribute to the growth and development of the academic institution. The Program has identified the six (6) core faculty members under the Information Technology Program for this Academic Year 2022-2023 and encourages them to conduct and publish research in line with the field of study. With this development in the area of research, all the core faculty members in the IT program have proposed and completed research this 2023 and continue to pursue quality research for the program's benefit.

Recommendation # 2: The Dean/Program Chairperson may encourage the faculty to develop instructional materials for review by the IM committee and submit these for copyright purposes.

The faculty member and together with the program has conducted a study of the academic performance of the students, such as a published study in a refereed research journal entitled "SELF-EFFICACY IN LEARNING C PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE" among students taking up programming course in CHMSU Alijis. Also, continuous evaluation of student progress is done through an evaluation of courses taken every semester to check the academic performance
of the students.
13. Reiterating the compliance of the following recommendations from previous visit for Area VI:
Recommendation # 1: Effective training makes a program viable and sustainable hence, an impact or tracer study may help in stopping, redesigning or continuing the project.
Recommendation # 2: The Extension Council of the college might craft standard forms intended for monitoring and evaluation to have uniformity in making reports.
Recommendation #3: Extension services are one of the functions of a college, thus making the stakeholders feel its importance. Hence, the administration might consider doing a separate manual with substantial provisions solely for that purpose.
