My name is Mrs. Flynn and I am going to be your 2nd grade teacher this year! I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself.
I attended college at Rider University and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. A few years later, I went on to earn my Master's degree in Special Education at The College of New Jersey. Both of these qualifications help me meet the needs of all of my students.
Currently, I live in Haddonfield, NJ with my husband and daughter. She is getting ready to start high school this Fall! We are so excited for her and can’t wait to see what this new adventure brings. We have a cat named Oreo who is playful and silly. She loves to chase toys and have fun. Most of all, Oreo LOVES to eat! She is always hoping for a tasty treat! This summer I spent time with family and friends, and headed to the pool or beach as often as we could. I love all Philly sports teams, especially, the E-A-G-L-E-S and Phillies! (you'll see :)
Chesterfield Elementary School is where I have been teaching for many, many years, 26 to be exact! I began my career here at CES as a 6th grade teacher, and focused on preparing the students for middle school. Then shifted to working with 4th graders and geared them to be more independent learners. This is my second year in 2nd grade, and I am so excited to work with students your age! I say this because of your energy and enthusiasm about school. We will continue to develop your foundational math, reading and writing skills, but also know you are ready for more independence and critical thinking!
I have been busy setting up our classroom, and look forward to working with you to make your 2nd grade year rewarding, fun and memorable.
See you soon!
~Mrs. Flynn
