Tips for Parents

• Stay connected to your child's teachers

• Encourage increasing independence BUT...

• Expect to remain closely involved with your child's work (this is still normal and expected!)

• Drill foundational skills: math facts and rules

• Encourage disciplined study habits.

• Stay in touch with teachers.

• Be familiar with curriculum, lesson plans, and homework assignments for each class. Students will be gradually be assuming more responsibility but will still need support as they navigate this part of their educational journey. This is normal and expected! 

• Help develop your student's comprehension skills by asking intentional questions about what they are reading and learning.
