Expectations

Learning success at CHESS begins with YOU! You must be an active participant in your student's learning journey.  In 2nd Grade, this means being present with your student as they complete their at-home learning packet (even if you think they could do it on their own). Make a plan  for learning each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and break this up into manageable chunks of time, if needed. Students at this age may still need movement breaks every 15-20 minutes.

Engage with them throughout the day in their active learning. 

Read aloud to your children daily and encourage independent reading time. 

Allow for active play, creativity, and exploration of their interests. 

Communicate frequently with teachers, as we are partnering with you in this wonderful journey of learning!
