During this period of social distancing and online learning, it can be easy to disconnect from the Cheshire High School Community. However, there is now an easy way to change that.

On March 20th and March 21st, Cheshire High School will be hosting “Rock Your Socks!” days in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day.

The official World Down Syndrome Day is March 21st, chosen specifically as a way to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome that leads to Down Syndrome. On this day, people all over the world are invited to show their support for inclusion and equality for those with Down Syndrome. At Cheshire High School, this message of community and acceptance is of the utmost importance, making World Down Syndrome day a must-celebrate event. This Friday and Saturday students and faculty are encouraged to wear the craziest pair of socks they own and post a picture with the hashtags “lots of socks”, “World Down Syndrome Day” and “mydsact”. The Rampage will also be reposting these pictures in celebration, so make sure to tag the Rampage on Twitter (@CHSRampage) and Instagram (@chsrampage). This event is a great opportunity to reconnect with the Cheshire High community while spreading awareness for a great cause.

So tomorrow, as you get ready for online school, make sure to throw on some funky socks, snap a picture, and do your part on World Down Syndrome Day!
