As students, teachers, and staff return to school, Omicron continues to rage through the state. With the positivity rate just above 21%, schools are tightening measures to keep students in person and safe. On the first day back from winter break, there were 101 confirmed cases in our school community.

During announcements, Dr. Gadd stated “our mitigation strategies must be as robust as possible, and must be adhered to 100% - no exceptions.” Gadd also outlined a few reminders:

1) No one, student or staff, is to have a mask down around their chin.

2) No food or drink in classes or hallways; no food or drink in study halls. Food is to be consumed ONLY in the Cafe, Commons, or the East Gym during lunch where 6 feet of spacing can be observed.

3) Take brief mask breaks outdoors.

4) All desks must be at least three feet apart from student to student.

5) Avoid group work in classrooms.

The district has no plans for a switch to hybrid or remote learning at this time.
