Are you looking for a new club to join? Or even just tired of being bored after school? Then join CHS Drama! Even if you are involved with sports or other clubs, there are still ways to be involved!

At CHS Drama there are ways for everyone to be involved. Whether onstage or behind the scenes, you are bound to have an amazing time with a group of wonderful and kind people. There are even many different types of roles for you to fill.

The more obvious and well-known roles are, of course, the ones on stage: the amazingly talented actors. Auditions for this year’s fall show Deadline were held on September 5th and 6th. For more information on the fall show (and in future months, the spring musical) check out the CHS Drama Club Google Classroom. If you aren’t already on the Google Classroom, check out the flyers about fall play auditions that are up around the interior of the school building for the code to join!

If acting isn’t your thing, or if you don’t make the cut but still want to be involved, you can join the Tech Crew! Tech runs around behind the scenes helping things to run smoothly; moving props, helping with quick changes, moving smaller scenery pieces, etc.

Not available all year? Not a problem! Not only is it up to you whether to be involved with the fall play, the spring musical, or both, but you can even choose to be involved in either of them and just come as tech for costume closet work days. That’s right, even if you don’t have the time to commit to being in the cast or crew for either of the shows, you are still able to be involved!

Speaking of crew, you don’t have to move heavy set pieces or keep track of props if you don’t want to. You can do lights or sound. You can even be involved in costuming or hair and makeup. Of course, you can also choose to be specifically on props, making sure they are where they need to be when the actors need them, or you can choose to be specifically on the running crew, helping to move set pieces during rehearsals and the shows themselves.

All those options and you still can’t find something you think you’ll enjoy? You can be an usher for any of our productions, during which you would be helping people find their seats and handing out programs to people as they come in. If that somehow still doesn’t cover it, then you could even choose to be a member who helps with convincing businesses around town to purchase ads in our spring musical playbill in a PR-type role. If none of the options mentioned above peak your interest and you still want to be involved, talk to any one of our stage managers: Sophia Harma, Mariem Fahimi, and Abby Rinaldi, or talk to either of our directors, Ms. DeMeo and Ms. Chorney.

So whether you prefer to be onstage or behind the scenes, we hope you will consider joining CHS Drama this year.
