NHS Induction Ceremony

As many CHS members know, being accepted into the National Honor Society (NHS) is a profound accomplishment. This past week on Wednesday, September 27th, CHS Class of 2025, was inducted into NHS. The new inductees were a group of 55 students from the junior class who have completed a collection of 100 community service hours and have had a 4.0 GPA or higher for their past three years at CHS. 

National Honor Society is not just recognized at CHS, it is recognized at the national level. One of the Co-Vice-Presidents of NHS, Mariem Fahmi, spoke at the induction on Wednesday. Mariem stated that, “NHS is built on the greatest four pillars: Character, Service, Leadership, and Scholarship. It may seen easy but it takes strength to accomplish! I am so proud of all the new members and so excited to see what this year brings us!!”

Additionally, inductee Mia Niglio shared her experiences with the NHS induction, stating “it meant a lot to me to be recognized with my classmates as part of something that truly values hard work and service.” The ceremony was about forty minutes long and was conducted similarly to a commencement ceremony. Each student walked across the stage and accepted their certificate. Parents, grandparents and guardians of the students were all invited to celebrate their child’s accomplishment. After the ceremony, Mrs. Wildermann, the Culinary teacher at the high school, congratulated all of the inductees and their parents with a breakfast which was prepared and served by the students in her Food Service class.
