Changes are afoot at the Louis Astrino Hamden Rink. After two weeks of practice, it is evident that this year's Blades team is going to make its mark on the Connecticut Girls’ hockey conference!

The 23-24 member team is made up of a mixture of valuable returning players and a few new incoming players.  This team includes players from Cheshire, North Haven, and Amity and  there are 11 girls on the Blades from CHS; we are very excited to cheer them on.

The team faced Fairfield Tuesday December 4th at Sacred Heart University. The girls won 6-2, with a goal scored from Cheshire’s own Lucy Dickenson. The team will play 18 games this season across Connecticut. States and SCCs will be in February.

Team captain from Elaina Scasino, said, “This upcoming season will be a comeback for us…This year we have two goalies with experience and so many talented girls. I’m beyond excited to play with everyone and win as many games as we can. Our practices look amazing and we have really come together as a team already.” We are so excited for another year of hockey, and can not wait to see how The Blades do this 2023-24 year!
