With quarantine and social distancing, all of us are staying home more often and paying more attention to our personal health. One way to improve your health from your home is with plants. Not only do they look nice, but certain indoor plants have been proven to absorb chemicals and improve air quality; being in a room with plants can also lower stress and improve your blood pressure! Here are five plants that can help with your health.

Golden Pothos

Pothos are easy to take care of and have air-purifying qualities, though limited in comparison to other plants. This is a good one to get if you are new to plants!

English Ivy

This ivy is very good at absorbing mold from the air and is very rustic looking. They love bright light and slightly dry soil.

Peace Lily

This pretty plant is great at breaking down compounds like carbon monoxide. They like indirect sunlight.

Mass Cane

This plant ranked number one in NASA’s tests for removing formaldehyde from the air. It is slow-growing and great for people who want a low maintenance plant.

Lavender

Lavender is great at improving sleep because of its nice smell and relaxation qualities. It is great to keep near you at night, for a deeper sleep.
