Below are three fun creative crafts to make into winter themed decorations. They are easy to make and their materials are easy to find and gather. Have fun making these festive items!
Pine Cone Ornaments
Materials:
Pinecones
Glue and glitter or just glitter glue
Popsicle stick or paintbrush
Small dish for glitter/glitter glue
Twine
Scissors
Steps:
Gather materials, then apply glitter by either:
a) Squeezing the glitter glue directly onto the pinecone
b) Dispensing glitter glue onto a dish and using a popsicle stick or paintbrush to get it on the pinecone
c) Dispense glue onto a dish, spread it onto the pinecone, and sprinkle the glitter
Allow it to dry for 24 hours
Attach a piece of twine to the tip of the pinecone. Start by tying one end of the string into a knot at the top and then tying both remaining strands.
Festive Leaf Felt Wreath
Materials:
Styrofoam wreath base (you can get this from the dollar store)
Felt (cut into leaf shapes)
Stick pins
White felt poms
Steps:
Prepare and gather your leaf shaped felt. You will need both large and small leaves.
Place the leaves row by row and pin them about ½ - 1 inches apart. Only pin them to the side and front of the styrofoam, leaving the back blank.
3. Continue until the wreath is covered and fill in the gaps with more leaves.
4. Pin the poms by threading the pin through the edge of the pom and into the wreath. Add any other decorations as you please.
Votive Mason Jars
Materials:
Jars
Chalky paint in color of choice (can also use acrylic)
Painter’s tape
Stencils
Pen
Scissors
Paint brush
Epsom salt or glitter or cotton balls
Tea light
Steps:
Layer the painter’s tape on top of the stencil and trace the shape using a pen.
Rip off the painter’s tape and cut out the shape. Then stick the cut out onto the jar.
Give the jars two layers of chalky paint and once it dries, remove the tape.
Add the Epsom Salt (or a replacement) and the tea light.
