Nothing beats the San Diego sun, warm climate, gorgeous sights, and lively yet laid back city atmosphere. These might be some of the reasons why people of all ages flock to California, especially college students looking to have a new experience compared to their hometowns.

As the second largest state in our nation, California itself has over 400 colleges, with San Diego alone housing over 20 of them. The city provides college students with everything they could hope for: great food, unique internships, vibrant nightlife, and blossoming culture.

A school that stands out compared to all those in the city is the University of San Diego, a private, Catholic, mid sized university that was just this year ranked #1 Most Beautiful Campus by the Princeton Review. USD has over 80 degrees available and is a globally renowned Changemaker Campus which means it is committed to encouraging students to become global citizens who respect the people and the world around them and work to see positive change. As a result of that, over 80% of students participate in study abroad programs, many engaging in some type of community service.

As previously stated, USD was ranked #1 by the Princeton Review for Most Beautiful Campus, and this is absolutely true. The Spanish Renaissance architecture vibes are truly breathtaking and are consistent throughout the campus. Though it keeps this historic style, the buildings are modern and updated inside with state of the art labs for science students and a brand new business building and a new recreation center coming within the next two years.

USD has Division 1 athletics in addition to club and intramural sports as well as countless clubs that reflect student culture, majors, and interests. Almost all students find a place within one of these organizations. Additionally, students can indulge in research with their professors. The majority undergraduate students, no matter what major, participate in some kind of study which helps them significantly when searching for a career after graduation.

It is just a short ride into the heart of the city, from the train stations, and from the airport providing students with access to countless opportunities in San Diego and beyond. If any of this interests you, check out the USD website: https://www.sandiego.edu/.
