If you are interested in a huge campus, beautiful architecture, and the environment of the West Coast, UCLA might be the school for you! The University of California at Los Angeles is a school that is home to over 20,000 students and covers approximately 420 acres of land.

On campus are elaborate buildings with stunning architecture, some dating back to 1919 when the university was founded. There are over 200 buildings including the Powell Library and Haines Hall, and a Cultural Museum right in the heart of campus. There are also many major specific and housing buildings scattered around the campus.

Campus life flourishes outdoors as the California climate stays warm for most of the year, allowing for the daily use of the greens and many outdoor seating areas throughout campus. UCLA also is home to many successful sports teams including basketball and gymnastics, and attending these games are a significant part of the student life culture. They also have a wide variety of clubs and activities available for students, and students can connect with the community through The Daily Bruin, the campus newspaper.

UCLA is a very rigorous academic environment and you must be committed to your academics to attend this school, but if you ever need help, you have access to a multitude of resources on campus through student organizations or connections with faculty. The Powell Library is an additional resource, housing over 12 million volumes of all types of books including leisure reads, research books, or textbooks, in addition to a high-tech computer lab available to students for research.
