San Diego State University (SDSU) is a gorgeous campus that is home to over 30,000 students. Located in the great state of California, the weather is pleasant all year round and features 60-70 degree sunny days for most of the year with a short rain season in the middle of winter and some warmer days in the summer. You can take advantage of those warm days on the beach, which is only fifteen minutes from the campus, or in Balboa Park which is only ten minutes away and features the San Diego Zoo, rose gardens, vendors, and a laid-back city-like environment. The West Coast has a more relaxed environment and is generally slower moving than the East Coast.

The campus itself is located on the outskirts of San Diego and for the most part, can be considered quite large, covering 560 acres and featuring a wide variety of buildings in all of their different specialties. The buildings are generally organized by major, so the business buildings are grouped together and the science buildings are grouped together, for example. On campus there are also many different quads that have a wide variety of beautiful and colorful West Coast plants, some water fixtures including a koi pond, and a public pool that is available to students.

The campus does not have a dining hall, and instead, the meal plan consists of a certain amount of money you get each day or week (depending on your chosen plan) and you can spend it at a variety of restaurants around the campus including Starbucks and Jack in the Box Burgers along with other small restaurants.

SDSU is a D1 school with many successful sports teams including a football team for which a brand new stadium is being built this year. The sporting facilities on campus are also often available for students to use for exercise in addition to two gyms on campus. There is also an aquatic center that has a public campus pool.

Overall, this university is definitely one to look into if you are comfortable going so far from home and feel that you might enjoy the laid-back and beautiful environment of the West Coast.
