Fordham University, founded in 1841, is a Jesuit university in New York City which features two campuses: Lincoln Center (in the heart of Manhattan) and Rose Hill (in the Bronx). Both have a distinct allure, with Rose Hill offering the typical American college experience with green quads and unique architecture, and the Lincoln Center campus offering the endless opportunities of the city. This article will focus on the Lincoln Center (LC) Campus.

The LC Campus spreads across eight acres of the city and is just minutes away from Central Park, Times Square, and other NYC attractions. The Fordham area includes a variety of academic buildings, a few main residential buildings with dining halls included, and an eight story library. Outdoor areas to congregate are limited, with only one main quad private to Fordham students. A unique feature of this campus that makes it appealing for the Northeast winter months is the tunnel system underground that connects to almost all buildings on the LC campus so that you don’t even have to brave the cold to get to classes in the winter.

The benefit of Fordham is that, campus wise, you can have the best of both worlds: you have a main home base school, but you can take classes at both of Fordham’s campuses. So, if you are someone who wants the opportunities of the city but wants to reside in a more quiet and private area, you can live at Rose Hill and take up to half of your classes at LC (with free, Fordham provided transportation available between both campuses).

The LC campus is the school of about 2,400 undergraduate students, with about 48% of those students being commuters. The school has programs to make commuters and residents feel equally welcome. Speaking of programs, Fordham offers a variety of programs to allow students to take advantage of the city’s opportunities, for example discounted tickets to movies, film festivals, Broadway shows, and more, as well as an incredible variety of internship opportunities.
