On March 22, 2024, I attended the Cheshire High School Production of Mean Girls. The show was a story narrated by two characters, Janis (Ainsley Dziura) and Damien (Nate Markman), about their friend Cady (Ella Paul), who came to their school from Africa and quickly realized the high school dynamics especial with three "mean girls" would be much more difficult than her life in Kenya. There was lots of singing, dancing, acting, and laughing during this production and it had the audience very intrigued.

In my opinion, this show was the best high school production I have seen thus far, as it was extremely entertaining. Every single person in the cast was filled with talent and had incredible singing and dancing skills. The casting of this production was incredibly accurate and I believe every role was fit by the person perfectly. For example, Ella Paul, who was casted as Cady, fully embodied the awkwardness of the character and very much reminded me of the actress who played Cady in the Broadway production of Mean Girls. Also the roles of Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith were phenomenal, in every possible way the actresses (Cameron Lewis and Sarah Silverman) committed themselves to the complicated characteristics of the role making me understand their true character. Although I only mentioned a few specifically, every single person in this cast was committed and amazing in their role.

All in all, the 2024 Cheshire High School musical this year was a smashing success in my eyes, not just because everyone had an amazing voice and dance ability, but because it was very captivating as all of the cast is in high school and some of the overall themes hit home. The end performance talked about how everyone should come together despite our differences and I feel that people in high school now should use this as a reminder to be kind and believe in each other. This cast was so incredible with their talent and I very much enjoyed this production.
