For those missing movie theaters, fear not! HBO Max and other streaming services have the solution for you: they’re releasing these exciting new films for you in the comfort of your home.

Warner Brothers recently announced a special 2021 plan; all of their feature films on HBO Max will be available the day they roll out in theaters. Major titles such as Dune, Tom and Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, and In The Heights will be available to stream on their predicted release dates.

While this is a major plan, Warner Brothers is not quite the first studio to do this. Disney released their live action Mulan film early on Disney + with an exclusive premiere subscription for $30. This may seem like a high price, but it would normally be at least $52 for four people to see the movie in theaters.

Warner Brothers’ new plan may seem like the perfect idea, but there is a catch- these movies won’t be on HBO Max forever. They will be streaming for 30 days and then will be available digitally and on DVD before they possibly return to sites like HBO. This may seem like a major downfall, just imagine how you view movies today, with another perk. Film viewing at home is getting better and better.
