One of the most exciting end-of-the-year trends everyone looks forward to, but at the same time dreads is the one and only ‘Spotify Wrapped.’ For users of the music app all over the world, Spotify it compiles everything each member has listened to and gives a list to be able to reflect your top artists, podcasts, songs, genres you listened to, and more. Spotify stated, “Today, we unveil the top artists, albums, songs, podcasts, and more that defined how more than 381 million people around the world listened and discovered audio.” Spotify likes to surprise its global followers towards the beginning of every December and this year it happened to be on December 1st. What’s in your Spotify wrapped?

Spotify also put all of the streams each follower of the app used for people to see the biggest songs and albums of 2021. It is under a section of their website called For the Record.

For the second year in a row, Bad Bunny who is a Puerto Rican Reggaeton star was the most streamed singer. This was quickly followed by the current woman of the hour, Taylor Swift who managed to release two albums this year. The list then goes BTS, Drake, and Justin Bieber.

Former Disney star Olivia Rodrigo took the crown for most songs streamed for her iconic “driver's license” bop. She also took 4th place for “good 4 u.” “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” created by Lil Nax X swept for the second most streams globally.

With no shock again, “SOUR” by Rodrigo reached the most streams for an album (her first-ever solo album). An overall bop that goes way too hard, “Future Nostalgia'' by Dua Lipa takes second. Third, fourth and fifth place albums were “Justice” by Justin Bieber, = by Ed Sheeran, and “Planet Her” by Doja Cat.

The site has some pretty interesting choices for this crazy and eventful year.
