Olivia Wilde’s new movie, Don’t Worry Darling, has been one of the most anticipated films of 2022. Between Harry Styles's massive fan base and the compelling drama surrounding several of the actors, the movie has been a big hit. It’s been two years since the movie was announced, and moviegoers from around the world have expressed their (very) different opinions on it.

As a Harry Styles and psychological thriller fan, I had been anxiously waiting to watch this movie since 2020. Like most other people, I was very nervous to see how the acting would be on Harry Styles's part, as it was his first lead role in a film, and had followed along with the drama surrounding Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh for the past couple of months.

I went to go see it on release day, which was September 23rd, and I have some mixed feelings about it. Off the bat, I’d like to say that I did enjoy this movie (and yes, I would’ve enjoyed it even if Harry Styles wasn’t in it).

I’m going to first address the long-anticipated question, how was Harry Styles’s acting? In my opinion, I think he did fairly well. The clips that were released on TikTok really took things out of context, and his acting was not cringey or uncomfortable to watch. He did fine in his first role.

Now, moving on to the movie itself, I think it was a good film. The plot twist made my jaw drop, there were things left open to interpretation, and the premise of the plot was unique and interesting.

Lead actress Florence Pugh was phenomenal, she played her character, Alice Chambers, perfectly. Her character was also complicated and interesting, and I cannot go into more about that without spoiling the movie.

There were some weird plot holes that could be open to interpretation, as a psychological thriller usually has, however, some were just too open that it made the movie slightly confusing.

This movie is definitely worth watching, especially if you love a creepy soundtrack, a shocking plot twist, and 50s fashion!
