Preparing your child for Kindergarten is very important, both socially and academically. Social skills such as knowing how to advocate for oneself, understanding the importance of listening to adults, sharing with other students, etc. are essential. Academic skills such as knowing how to write their name, knowing some letters and sounds, having a basic understanding of numbers 1-10, etc. are equally important. Practicing these academic and social skills can give your child a head start in their Kindergarten journey and can provide a solid foundation to build upon throughout the year!
Please look below at our A to Z Kindergarten Readiness to see the skills that are expected of an incoming kindergartner. Also, you will find academic videos that can help prepare your child for Kindergarten! Practice these skills over the summer to help your child have a successful start to the school year! We look forward to seeing you in August!
