The Season Starts on August 11, 2025
Season FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions:
Where is practice?
We meet at the practice field next to Belleview Track (see below). We will start taking attendance by 3:45 and we should be on our run by 4:00 PM. If you are arriving after 4 PM, you probably won't find us there! Please let your coach know if you will be late. Practice should be over by 5:15 - 5:30, unless you are training with the high mileage group, then it will be done by 5:45 - 6 PM.Â
When do we practice?
We practice M - F, unless there is a meet on Friday, then we practice M - Th. There is occasional, optional practice on Saturdays when we don't have meets. The season runs until the league meet (date not yet set), which is in mid-October.
What will meets look like?
We will be back to our "normal meets" where all runners are competing at the same location. The divisions will be Varsity, JV, Open, and occasionally JV is swapped out for a Freshman/Sophomore division. These are typically on Saturdays though some will be Fridays or Thursday (in the case of League and Regionals).
Will there be cuts?
We will do our best to accommodate every athlete who comes out for cross country. We do not cut athletes, but we may need an athlete to participate in a shortened or more controlled practice if they cannot go the entire distance without walking.
Where do my booster club funds go?
Normally, booster club funds will go to support the team though things like team feeds (pasta parties), snacks for meets, banquets, coaching recognitions, etc. This year booster club fees will need to support athletes attending meets in addition to all non-food related needs.
Where do I put my practice gear?
That's a good question. We have access to locker rooms (ask one of the coaches) or you can leave it in your school locker. I would wear your practice gear to school, or keep it in your bag to change into in the bathroom before practice. If you know an upperclassman who drives, you can try to convince them to put it in their car.
What happens if I can't come to time trials?
The answer is different depending on how much I know about you. If you can't come to time trials, I'll do my best to place you with athletes of similar abilities as you ran with last year (if you did), or who you ran with over the summer (if you did), or we will just put you with our lowest mileage training group and you. Worst case scenario you are severely misplaced, and we will correct this as soon as we can.
