College Access Programs (TRIO/CCP/CAMP) hires students to work alongside our staff.
Student positions are paid through federal work study, department funds or with tuition waivers, citizenship is not a requirement.
Office Assistants
Assistants staff the Resource Center and Main Office front desk by welcoming students, staff, and the community in a friendly, helpful, and approachable manner.
They assist students and staff in the following ways:
Greet guests and check-in students
Provide information and answer questions
Answer phones and make calls as needed
Help students schedule appointments
Maintain office and resource center work areas
Assist staff with special projects and events
Other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
Be enrolled in at least 6 credits at Chemeketa
Maintain at least a 2.75 GPA
Pass all classes with a “C” or better
Requirements:
Ability to work with a diverse population
Open to feedback, suggestions, and evaluation
Strong communication and listening skills
Able to maintain confidentiality
Able to attend weekly staff meetings Friday morning at 9 am throughout each term

Peer Tutors
Tutors provide essential support for students, helping to enhance learning & build skills for success.
They assist students in the following ways:
Review course content
Help with homework or exam preparation
Review essays
Using Canvas, calculators, and other technology
Study strategies and time management tips
Minimum qualifications:
Be enrolled in at least 6 credits at Chemeketa
Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA
Earn an A or a B in the classes you wish to tutor
Completed at least 8 college credits
Requirements:
Able to work with and relate to students at different academic levels
Actively embraces and practices principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Open to feedback, suggestions, and evaluation
Strong communication and listening skills
Proficient with technology
Able to attend weekly staff meetings Friday morning at 9 am throughout each term

Peer Mentors
Mentors assist in our TRIO/CCP classes and help students learn to navigate college successfully.
They help students in the following ways:
Assist with completing assignments
Give feedback and encouragement
Monitor academic success
Follow up on instructor concerns
Connect students with resources
Minimum qualifications:
Be enrolled in at least 6 credits at Chemeketa
Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA
Successfully complete all classes each term
Requirements:
Ability to work with a diverse student population
Open to feedback, suggestions, and evaluation
Strong communication and listening skills
Proficient with technology
Able to maintain confidentiality
Desires to develop leadership skills working directly with students and staff
Able to work 10-12 hours per week
Able to attend weekly staff meetings Friday morning at 9 am throughout each term
