Policies

Attendance and engagement is expected at all class meetings, though we are human and life happens.

• In the event that a student misses class, that student is responsible for obtaining notes from other students and meeting with the instructor as needed during office hours.  

• If you must be absent for an important personal or academic reason, please contact me before your absence so we can make arrangements that keep you on track with the course.

• If you are absent due to illness or hospitalization which lasts more than a week, please contact me so we can develop a schedule for turning in missing work. 

If I have to be absent for a class, I will email the class as soon as possible with information on how we will make up any content and activities missed due to my absence. 

To send me a message individually, please use the Canvas inbox or my Chemeketa email. I usually respond within 24 hours to messages I receive. If you don't hear from me for more than 48 hours, please send a follow up! I miss things sometimes, too. 

If you message me over the weekend or a holiday, I'll usually respond on Monday. I take breaks, too! If you would like to meet with me live via Zoom outside of my offered open hours, I'm happy to do so. Send me a couple dates and times and we'll schedule a meeting.
