About Activity - What is an Abacus?
Etymology - The word is derived from the Greek word ‘abax’, meaning “calculating board” or “calculating table”.
Usage - It is still commonly used today across certain Asian communities.
Chinese Invention - The first Chinese Abacus was invented around 500 B.C. The Abacus, as we know it today, was used in China around 1300 A.D.
First Computer - Often referred to as the first computer, the Abacus is an instrument used to add, subtract, multiply and divide, to calculate fractions and square roots.

Visual Arithmetic : Students learn to focus for sustained periods, to manage their time while completing long series of sums, as well as, to concentrate on more than one task at the same time while. These are crucial life skills that students will use again and again.

The Program Consists of 10 Levels and it takes approx.40 months to complete all levels .
Session/ Level Duration : Approx. 3-4 months for each level
Weekly Classes : 2 hours
Pre-requisites : Basic ability to recognize and write the numbers 1-50
Certifying Authorities : UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Academy, China Zhusuan Association

✓ UCMAS conduct State Level, National Level & International Level competitions every year
✓ The International Grading Examination (IGE) is one of our highly sought-after programmes. It is an examination organized yearly by UCMAS. This examination is conducted along with collaborations of the Chinese Zhusuan Association (CZA) and Global Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Association (GAMA).
Student can complete 3 levels in a year.
