Year-Year
In my PBM, I will be recreating The Forgotten Classroom. This game takes place in an abandoned school, where you have to get out of the school without being caught by the teachers, and every level you start in a different classrooms, with different objects to help you escape, working up to escaping the Principal. The purpose of this cut scene is to further enhance the game experience and the backstory. The character is going to be the principal, he is going to be unique because he is a 10 foot tall LEGO figure, making it extra hard for you to escape, hence it being the last level. My cut scene will tell a story without using dialogue by diving in depth into why he is running from the principal, and how he will get it done. I will need to build desks and chairs, different LEGO people. and I will need to enhance the classroom by giving it an abandoned, every feel, as if something doesn't feel right. The LEGO people will probably require the most attention, but if I could pull from past projects, that would be a great help. The objects that will need to be rigged are the teachers and the principal, as well as the student (the main character) who will be playing the game. The design of my character will greatly affect his role, he will be a misfit, never really good in school and always wanted to leave, which is why he was chosen. The key object will be hidden in plain sight, the main character will have to find them in order to defeat the bosses, and they will be placed where you would normally find those objects in a classroom. My cameras will strategically be placed around the room, being able to catch everyone's face, to enhance the feeling of surprise and excitement. My layout supports the flow of the cut scene by helping turn a small area, into a feeling of so much going on, to make people forget about that.
Special Pencil
My pencil will be a major part of my scene because the Lego figure that will be entering the room, will be looking for it. But I faced a couple of obstacles during the making of this object. The first obstacle that I faced was the sizing and matching the size of a hexagon and circles. But I was able to overcome this by making the radius of the circles just a little bit bigger than the hexagon. Another obstacle I faced was finding the correct textures because the pencil was so complex, but I was able to apply the correct textures correctly and I think it came out well. The part I'm most proud of is the wood connecting the lead to the yellow part of the pencil because of how realistic it looked.
