3D Modeling & Animation

2025-2026
The title of my video game/film/book is called "Duckdown", due to its main character being a duck. The type of duck is a mallard. The basic purpose to my cutscene is to create the character and show what it looks like. I also have the resilience of animating the character. Whether, finished or unfinished, I will still continue to process the facial expressions and maybe the eyes will light up. The animation will take tons to storyboards. The story is about a duck named Peter, yes, I named him Peter for a simpler name. He is a mallard duck who goes on a high flying adventure. Peter once had a dream of going to the Dominican Republic and flies without knowing his dad and duckling brother Tad knowing where Peter is at. I can't think of a better way to say. He is defiant, but he has no orientation away from what he is. He meets a friend who helps him and his name is Joaquim.
I have got the reference sheets just in case they are just a bit difficult.
This is the storyboard that I uploaded verbally.
Design and Planning
How did sketching your design help guide your modeling process? It helped guide me by providing an image for me to try and replicate. I created the duck by using the duck image as a template, which I in turn I used to create each body part of the duck by increasing or decreasing the polygons and/or vertices and/or edges.
Modeling and UV Techniques
Which modeling tools and techniques did you use most effectively? I mostly used Edit Poly, my good, good friend. Edit Poly, in which the reason is because it was always able to model the duck in the easiest way.
Texturing and Materials
Which texture maps did you create, and what role does each play in the final look? I never got to this point.
Reflection
What challenges did you face during modeling or texturing, and how did you overcome them? I had to add so many vertices, which made the modeling even more difficult, I kept facing more and more challenges with modeling this duck. Some proportions even got thrown off and then I could not do anything about it.
