An effective About Me section for a digital art, 3D modeling, and game design portfolio should introduce the creator, showcase their skills, and provide insight into their creative approach. Here are some key questions to answer:
Who are you, and what do you do? I'm Mateo Sierra, you call me Mateo Sierra or Matthew or I don't care really much, call me, sir. Anyways, what I do is... ...to make moving pictures, books, video games, videos, deals, and money.
What inspired you to pursue digital art, 3D modeling, or game design? So for computer-animation I discovered that I wanted to have a job there was because people have been so obsessed with animation, particularly before animators and voice actors and actresses were to co-exist, as children, people were always obsessed and addicted to watching cartoons. But more importantly, growing up in the 2000s and 2010s era, I grew up watching computer-animated cartoons and movies like Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, and Illumination. Disney is my most perfect fitting parent company since my family sure loves Disney.
What is your artistic or design philosophy? So I came up with ideas, particularly before hand I was writing future fake Wikipedia scripts over movies and television shows that particularly I produce. However Disney is not the only particular role I am wanting to keep through. Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Amazon MGM Studios, Warner Bros. Pictures, A24, Pixar Animation Studios, 20th Century Studios, Sony Pictures, they all come in mind. Disney of course doesn't mind different artstyles, however my artstyle is to be unionized similar and way different than DIC's, The Incredible World of DIC was shut down just when I was a newborn.
2. Skills & Expertise
What software and tools do you already know/use (e.g., Photoshop, Blender, 3ds Max, Unreal Engine)? This goes in the dropdown list on the right.
Panzoid
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe After Effects
Vyond (formerly GoAnimate 2007-2019) (Also I use FlashThemes or Wrapper Offline)
Animaker
Plotagon
Autodesk 3ds MAX
What are your strongest skills (e.g., character modeling, environment design, texturing, animation)? So what I do what's perfect is like original AI, I haven't thought about character modeling, but I'll make sure I'll put it into a hand drawn cel paper before generating the picture. Compositions, colors, and appealing fragmentation are what I'm good at. With Vyond, you can create or produce a video inside a timeline, you can create your own characters, add props, and few other features. You can also voice your own characters if you want or perhaps make text-to-speech work (fyi, text-to-speech is the best you can ever do.)
Do you have any experience with coding or game mechanics (e.g., scripting in Unreal Engine, Unity, or custom shaders)? Yes, I also want to be a video game producer and designer just like Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, Yuji Naka, Toru Iwatani, Satoru Iwata, Masaya Nakamura, Masaya Matsuura, Jonathan Blow, Don Daglow, Todd Andrew Harold, Richard Garriott, William Ralph Wright, John D. Carmack, and other people in the video gaming industry. Coding is also what I have experienced, especially on Wikipedia or other encyclopedia sites, and mainly other coding entities. Coding is what I use to generate. I know both HTML and CSS.
What types of projects have you worked on? My favorite project from this semester is the shapes I love! My favorite one was the cone! (Personal, school, freelance, game jams, collaborations?)
Are there any standout projects you want to highlight? I think I have other projects that I loved especially the projects I got to post on YouTube! Coding was a masterpiece.
Have you worked on any team projects, and what was your role? I was assigned to teams when I first
How do you approach a new project? (Concept, research, iteration, finalization?)
What inspires your work (e.g., specific artists, games, styles, real-world influences)?
What are your long-term goals in digital art, 3D modeling, or game design?
A well-structured About Me page should feel personal yet professional, balancing creativity with clarity. It’s also a good idea to include a professional photo and links to relevant social media.
