About Mrs. Thacker

I am a graduate of SUNY Oswego with a BA in Science and MA of Science, Special Education from Canisius College. I am originally from Buffalo, NY and moved to North Carolina in February of 2013.

I have taught various grade levels and subjects throughout the last 14 years. Phillips Middle School has been my home for five years and now I'm the Gifted Education Specialist here at McDougle Elementary.

I am an avid Buffalo Bills and Syracuse Orange fan (I know, I'm still working on what shade of blue to wear) and I try to go to as many football, basketball and baseball games as I can each year.

I live in Durham with my husband and my buddy, Guinness. He often enjoys watching what the students are doing online and will typically crash a google meet or two.
